Summer CME Convention Highlights

CME Credit
- Physician Assistants:
This program has been reviewed and is approved for a maximum of 29.5 hours of AAPA Category I CME credit for the main conference.
If you participate in a workshop(s), please add those hours to your grand total. In addition, AAPA requires that you indicate the title of the workshop and amount of credit awarded either at the bottom of your certificate on a separate sheet of paper if needed.
- Nurse Practitioners: According to the American Nurses Credentialing Center, you are now permitted to earn
and file CE credits for programs accredited by the AAPA. For more information, please visit

Athletic Trainers: GAPA will be offering continuing education for Certified Athletic Trainers. Sessions are planned and will be designated for CEU credit for athletic trainers as well as CME credit for PAs. In addition, a separate CEU certificate will be available for athletic trainers to submit to their own licensing and/or certification board. Please visit www.bocatc.org for details. Attire
While this is a professional meeting, it is primarily planned as a relaxed learning experience for attendees. Casual attire in good taste is appropriate and suggested. Classrooms are air-conditioned, and sweaters or jackets may be desired.
Exhibition Hall
GAPA´s Exhibition Hall will feature more than 80 companies presenting the latest medical products and
services, career opportunities, and professional services. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more
about the resources available to today´s health care professionals. Looking for a new job? Representatives of
employment services, large hospitals, clinics, and other employers will be there waiting to talk with you.

Liquid Ginger transposes many genres into an eclectic mix of high-energy songs that appeal to a
wide variety of audiences. The group has opened for many national acts including The Fixx,
Eddie Money, Mothers Finest, and Hootie and the Blowfish.

Recreational Events
5K Fun Run/Walk
Get your morning exercise and help raise funds for GAPA´s Political Action Committee by participating in
GAPA´s Annual 5K Fun Run/Walk at 7 am on Wednesday, July 15. The course will take participants down a
relaxing stretch of beach for the 3.1 mile journey. Entry fee is $25 and includes a beverage, a commemorative
t-shirt, and plaques for the top winners. Spouses and guests are encouraged to participate.
Golf Tournament
Don´t miss GAPA´s Annual Golf Tournament scheduled for 1 pm on Thursday, July 16, at the Robber´s Row
Course at the Port Royal Golf Club. Robber´s Row was designed by noted architects George Cobb and Willard
Byrd in the early 1970´s and was redesigned in 1994 by world famous architect Pete Dye. The course is
located on the scenic marsh side of the Port Royal Plantation and cuts through beautiful stands of magnolia
and live oaks. Port Royal Golf Club, cuddled by the Atlantic coastline, is named one of the "Top 75 U.S. Golf
Resorts" by Golf Digest Magazine. The entry fee for the 4 person scramble is $100, and includes green fees,
cart, and prizes. If players wish to select their own team, simply notify the tournament chair on-site. Spouses
and guests are encouraged to participate.
