New Event - Fun Run, June 9 at Skidaway Island State Park in Savannah! The Georgia Association of Physician Assistants (GAPA) is encouraging all Georgians to “Get Fit with GAPA”. Fight the obesity epidemic with tools and opportunities that promote healthy eating programs and fun outdoor activities to help burn calories and build muscles! Watch this report from CBS Atlanta News! Get out and have fun!We've teamed up with Georgia's State Park system to make healthy living a bit more fun. Through the new "Rx for Fitness" program, Physician Assistants are prescribing healthy hikes in the great outdoors, and patients can turn in their “prescriptions” for free park passes!
GAPA also will be staffing free "health check" stations at “Tons of Fun” events at Georgia State Parks and historic sites. GAPA volunteers will provide basic services such as blood pressure checks, along with family counseling and recommendations on healthy eating and exercise programs.
